Calling all undergraduates! We are thrilled to notify you of a 12-week research/internship opportunity at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Summer 2023.
The Summer Program for Undergraduate Urology Research (SPUUR) seeks new and enthusiastic thinkers for the urology disease research field. This research is meaningful, as diseases affecting the urinary tract are among the most debilitating in medicine and tragically erode quality of life. Urologic research is also exciting because it requires a transdisciplinary approach. Whether your primary interest is in neuroscience, chemistry, developmental biology, pharmacology, physics or other disciplines, you are needed in this field! The summer will include research training, hands-on mentored research, active problem-solving exercises using clinical equipment and data, career-building activities including advice on graduate and professional degree program applications, and social/team-building activities. Our program alumni have successfully continued their training in medical school and other clinical training programs, graduate school, and the biotech industry.
Our website is https://spuur.urology.wisc.edu. We especially welcome applications from individuals who are historically underrepresented in urology research. The application deadline is 2/28/23 and decisions will be made by mid-March. The program runs from May 21- August 12. Applicants will receive a $6,569 stipend plus a $900 housing voucher.
We look forward to reviewing your applications!
