New research in The Journal of Pathology from UW O’Brien Center investigators Drs. Diya Binoy Joseph and Douglas Strand at UTSW, in collaboration with researchers from UT Southwestern Medical Center, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Southwest Transplant Alliance, demonstrate a heterogeneous response to 5-alpha reductase inhibitor (5ARI) treatment where cells in atrophied acini undergo an adaptation from a prostate secretory luminal to a club cell-like state in response to 5ARI treatment.
