New research from Dr. Hannah Ruetten (UW-Madison F30 Fellow) in UW O’Brien Center Associate Director Dr. Chad Vezina’s laboratory demonstrates that dog prostate volumes, like that of humans, might not be the best predictor of BPH symptoms.

In a new publication in Clinical Theriogenology, Dr. Hannah Ruetten (UW-Madison F30 Fellow), mentor Dr. Chad Vezina (O’Brien Center Associate Director), and colleagues demonstrate that dog prostate volumes, like that of humans, might not be the best predictor of BPH symptoms. The publication outlines a retrospective medical record review to describe canine BPH in a clinical population of client-owned dogs which demonstrated the presence of clinical signs other than prostatomegaly in dogs with BPH.
